About Us
The Production Company exchanges challenging new work for the theater between Australia and the United States.
Hailed by NYtheatre.com as "Indie Theater at its very best," the company’s Australia Project premiered new work from acclaimed American playwrights Trista Baldwin, Courtney Baron, Frank Basloe, Stephen Belber, Michael John Garcés, Brett C. Leonard, Elizabeth Meriwether, Brett Neveu, Kate Moira Ryan, Betty Shamieh, Ken Urban, Kathryn Walat and Beau Willimon. Other productions include Goats by Alan Berks (NYIT nomination for Best Solo Performance), Falling Petals by Ben Ellis (US Premiere) and The Furies by Elise McCredie and Trudy Hellier (World Premiere, starring Australian Film Institute Best Actress winner Maria Theodorakis).
In September 2007, The Australia Project II: Australia Strikes Back included new plays from some of Australia’s most celebrated playwrights, including Van Badham, Alexandra Collier, Brendan Cowell, Anthony Crowley, Ben Ellis, Wesley Enoch, Veronica Gleeson, Lally Katz, Ross Mueller, Tommy Murphy, Emma Vuletic and Tom Wright.
The Production Company’s work promotes and deepens cultural exchange between the United States and Australia and encourages artists to explore the relationship between our two countries.
